Event Description:
The annual training we offer is based in Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga guided by the principles of Ayurveda. Join the directors of Ashtanga Yoga Montreal – Allison Ulan, Jeanne Mudie, Jessica Goldberg and Eugene Poku for this month long 250-375 hour intensive to study and practice the ancient techniques of Yoga in the Krishnamacharya traditions ( Micheal Bridge-Dickson and Joanna Abbot will be guest teachers during this program ).
The month-long course will be focused through the principles of Ayurveda. The principles covered are the Yogic 5 Element Anatomy, the 3 dosha system, the Vayu system, Western Anatomy & Physiology, Vipassana Meditation and East/West Philosophy.
Teaching Methodology – how to teach classes to educate, elucidate and inspire.
Assists and Adjustment Methodology for respect and safety of student and teacher.
Course Dates:
Wednesday, May 23rd to Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 –
the one month intensive section of the course on the principles in Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga and the basics of Ayurveda.
June 23rd to August 23rd, 2012 -
the take-home exam component of the intensive which needs to completed to receive certification.
Monday, July 9th, 2012 to Thursday, May 2nd, 2013 –
the apprenticeship section of the course for enthusiastic students. This training is for the experienced yoga student who wants to deepen their personal yoga practice and understand yoga from it’s ancient origins. This training will provide a strong base for the person who wants to teach yoga as a career. Also, this course is beneficial for current teachers of other forms of Yoga to understand the broad principles of Yoga from the Ayurvedic perspective and how to present to these techniques skillfully to customize yoga routines for whole being healing of a student. It is highly recommended that to participate in this course, an interested student should have a minimum of 2 years of dedicated yoga study and practice already “under their yogic belt”.
Course fees:
To secure your place in this training, there is a $200 deposit is required with your application. When your application is accepted, we will then deposit your cheque to secure your place in the course.
$2,500 Advanced payment deadline is Monday April 15th, 2012. Tuition is $2,875 after April 15th and needs to be paid in total by May 20th, 2012. Tuition fees include all taxes and manual fees.
