| Massage Therapy
Thai Yoga Massage is rooted in Ayurveda, the traditional Indian medicine, and in Thaï Buddhism. These two traditions combine into a holistic and meditative approach. The first aim is to tone the energy lines, balancing the flow of life force (prana) in the body. By stretching the body in a therapeutic manner, Thai Yoga Massage releases muscular tension, increases joint mobility, and improves flexibility and body awareness.
The session is given on a massage therapy futon on the floor. The recipient is dressed in comfortable clothing, allowing for movement. In order to tone the energy lines the therapist applies direct pressure, employs passive mobilisation and stretches the body. The massage can be aimed at energizing or relaxing the recipient, depending on the need.
CORE Myofascial Therapy is a client-centered, full body treatment approach that mobilizes the myofascial network, improving human structural and functional potential. In simple terms, fascia are a conjunctive membrane which connect every part of the body to every other part. They support and stabilize muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones and organs. A myofascial therapy session can improve the function of fascia, musculature and joints, thus improving overall alignment, flexibility and breathing.
This approach is practiced on a massage table and focuses on the intrinsic spiral found in the human body. The therapist applies slow, deep pressure that follows Langer's lines, the road map of deep fascia.
Kinetic
Swedish massage is a classical method which focuses on providing a deep muscular relaxation, as well as increasing the range of movement by using massage techniques on the muscles and their points of attachment. It also increases blood and lymphatic circulation, helping to lower physical, psychological and emotional stress.
Done on a massage table, the therapist applies these techniques inclusively from one muscle attachment to the other, one muscular group at a time. The massage can be focused on global relaxation as well as on specific areas of tension or discomfort.
