Yoga Teacher Training

This 200-hour professional certification program is a great launching pad to begin teaching yoga, and a fantastic way to deepen your personal
practice. You will gain the confidence and technical skills you need to create inspiring, joyful and safe classes, that will truly touch the hearts and
lives of others.
The program draws its inspiration from the Kripalu Yoga tradition and interweaves the rich teachings of Buddhist meditation. It is designed in 10 weekend
intensives, with a small class size. This format will give you time to integrate the material and gain a supportive Sangha (community) with your peers and
teachers.
During this training you will:
• Gain a deep knowledge of alignment principles in asanas
• Learn to see and understand body structure and movement
• Learn Injury Prevention
• Gain precise language to compassionately communicate with your students
• Work with approaches to assisting students in asana, including hands-on techniques and demonstrations
• Learn introductory anatomy for yoga
• Have opportunities to practice teaching in a supervised environment
• Learn the Kripalu methodology for designing well-rounded classes, including centering, pranayama, warm-ups, asana, relaxation, loving-kindness
meditation and chanting
• Experience the art of sequencing safe and inspiring classes
• Learn how to create themes for your classes
• Be introduced to yogic history and the teachings of Swami Kripalu
• Learn how to teach beginner, gentle and mixed level classes
• Discover how the rich philosophy of yoga relates to our daily lives
• Learn how to teach students to develop mindfulness, loving-kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity.

Open to Massotherapists, Pilates instructors, bodyworkers, naturopaths, and any related fields. This course will allow you to continue to work in your
established field witha deeper consciousness and understanding so that your time and techniques can be used to their fullest potential in order to maintain,

Naada Yoga 500 hr Teacher Training
with Richard Rosen, Michael Stone, Sonia Osorio, and Elizabeth Emberly
Deepen and support your experience and understanding of yoga,
both as a teacher and as a practitioner, both in-class and in-community.
Our training program is based on a core curriculum of ten courses. Upon completion of all ten courses and fulfillment of the required practicum, students
will graduate with a 500 hr accreditation from Naada Yoga Teacher Training, achieving the highest level of accreditation recognized by the Canadian and
American yoga alliances.

A practicum component must be completed in order to graduate from this training. This section includes practice teaching, observing other teachers in
training, and working as an assistant to a senior teacher during class. Practicum hours are completed both in studio and at Montreal’s
Head and Hands facility, teaching community courses for the Young Parents
Program. Practicum hours can be scheduled at anytime after the completion of Assisting 101 and with faculty approval.

Week 1 Introduction to Core Curriculum Topic (2nd Friday of every month)
An introduction lecture on course subject matter.
Course packs are distributed.
Reading assignments are administered.
Week 2 Weekend Intensive: In-Depth Study & Exploration of Topic (3rd weekend of every month)

Week 3 Review and Exam (4th week of each Month)
20-minute Private consultation with NYTT teachers is available as part of your training for each Curriculum Core topic.
Take-home test is administered.

FRIDAY-SUNDAY, 9:30AM – 5:30 each day
FOR: Yoga teachers and teachers in training.
AND: Professionals, who work with pregnant women, (childbirth educators, doctors, doulas, massage/shiatsu therapists, midwives, nurses), and individuals
who have an established yoga practice.
AND: Pregnant women (if do not fit into one of the above categories - not eligible for a teaching certificate)
Expect to complete this comprehensive training and have the knowledge, understanding and techniques to support pregnant women to birth as consciously,
naturally, actively and normally as possible. Feel confident to assess specific therapeutic needs and address them safely with yoga. If you are already working
with pregnant women, this training will provide a deeper appreciation and understanding to work holistically while integrating physical, emotional, energetic
and spiritual.
